A Tibetan asks me this queston: why we still use Mount Everest ?

Call it what you want, it is the highest point on the planet and people will come to climb it regardless of it's location. I don't think the Tibetan Sherpas are complaining about being employed as guides. They would be high altitude goat herders otherwise, they are actually fortunate that they are making money by exploiting their proximity to the Mountain itself. As far as living next to the Chinese and us leaving? Leaving from where? The US was never there to leave, except when we helped liberate the region from the Japanese, who murdered thousands of Chinese, Tibetans, Nepalese, Phillippinos, Burmese, ect. during WW!!. A pawn against the Chinese? It makes no sense. Taiwan is of much more strategic and political importance in regards to China. Tibet is the home of the Dhali Lama and the spiritual center of that religion, if not for that, it would be irrelavant on the world stage of politics.
