Why are some of the U.S. laws so unfair to many Americans?

The government made that law to save lives.Not because they care,but to to save on the $255 death benefits they give when some one pes way.It's all about money to them.That why so many drugs are illegal,not because they care but because they can't control,distribute and tax them.They come from outside sources,which means they don't profit.For example,alcohol was once illegal in America.Most people were making it and selling it in their homes.It only became legal once the government was able to control it's distribution and profit from it.But anyway,the government shouldn't have to tell us to wear seat belts,that's common sense.
