I completely agree with you! I call it MODEL approach. There is Actual reality, Seeming reality and MODEL. MODEL relies on seeming reality and strives to arrive at Actual reality. This strife is virtually endless. It also means that what is ACTUAL may not matter to us at all. the basic difference and what between Clical ideas/MODELS and what Philosophy is, and the so called MODERN Physics consisting of Quantum and Relativity, is that the new approach does not care a damn about the unobserved details of reality. This is its strongest point and philosophically the weakest. One simple example will suffice to illustrate what I am saying Nobody has observed what the hell electron is doing inside the Hydrogen atom, so the modern Physics neglect it completely. Whereas clically and philosophically we may continue visualizing electrons in planet-like orbits!
